Baseline is an ideal starting point for ‘what-if’ analysis on next generation or on alternative eAxle systems.
Project Objective
- Correlate ePOP simulations to provide a baseline for next generation eAxle target setting.
DSD Responsibilities
- Measurements of the energy consumption of the JLR iPace vehicle undertaken for the WLTP cycle (on a rolling road)..
- Modelling the vehicle, eAxle and cycle in ePOP.
Outcome and Customer Benefits
- ePOP simulation vs. real-world measurements show (within measurement error) correlation within 1%.
- This level of correlation is consistent with the 1-3% level of correlation seen in another global OEM ePOP study.
Timeline
- Setting up the 3 in 1 sub-systems and simulation – 3 weeks.
- Simulation and correlation – 2 weeks.
